I wasn’t sure what to make of the new series Supergirl. But I loved the actress they picked for the role (Melissa Benoist from Glee), and after watching the first look at the series was pleased to see Ally McBeal (Calista Flockhart) and Lexi Grey (Chyler Leigh) in the cast. It seemed like some strange alternate TV universe where multiple series combined into one.
Film and television seem to be inundated with super heroes at the moment, not that I’m complaining. I’m an avid fan of the Batman, and let’s not forget Thor, so I was both excited and nervous to see Supergirl making its way to our screens, and hoped desperately, that Supergirl would indeed be super.
I’ve only seen the first look at the series, but what I saw gave me some hope that it could be good. Especially when Calista Flockhart’s character gave the perfect response to Supergirl’s objection to being called Supergirl, rather than Superwoman.
What do you think is so bad about girl?
I’m a girl, and your boss, and powerful, and rich, and hot, and smart. So if you perceive Supergirl as anything less than excellent, isn’t the real problem you?
Take a look for yourself.
